Here is a video I made showing the proper way to tension a rubik’s speed cube:
A review of the diansheng 3×3 rubiks cube. I works very well and only cost $4.00. I would reccomend buying it. Another cool feature is painted on stickers.
I decided to mod my original Rubik’s Cube. I didn’t want to sand everything down, I just wanted to sand a few areas that would give good performance with low risk of ruining the cube. I also found that buffing/polishing all of the pieces with a cloth soaked in silicon spray really helped not only get the scratches out from sanding, but to lube and clean the cube as well. The jump in performance surprised me, my times plummeted by about ten seconds! That’s 20% taken off of my time! IT also now cuts corners nicely, as well as enables finger tricks.
